What Busly is (and isn't)
Busly is a booking platform that connects you with independent bus and coach operators. We are not a bus company. We don’t own buses or employ drivers. When you accept a quote, your transport agreement is with that operator — they’re responsible for actually running the trip safely, on time, and as quoted. Our job is to make finding and comparing them easy.
Using Busly
You need an account (just your email — no password) to request quotes. Keep your details accurate: operators quote based on what you tell us, so a wrong pickup or passenger count means a wrong price. Don’t use Busly for anything unlawful, and don’t misuse other people’s information.
Quotes
A quote is an operator’s offer to run your trip at that price. Quotes can have an expiry — if one’s shown, the price isn’t guaranteed after it. Prices include GST unless stated otherwise. Until you accept a quote and the operator confirms, nothing is locked in. If your trip details change after you’ve asked for quotes, the numbers may change too — so tell us before you book, not after.
Booking, changes and cancellations
When you accept a quote, we let the operator know and they confirm the booking. From that point the operator’s own cancellation, change and refund terms apply — ask them up front if it matters to you (e.g. how late you can cancel, deposits, peak-date rules). If you need to change or cancel, contact us or the operator as early as you can. If an operator cancels or no-shows, tell us — we’ll help you sort out an alternative or a refund of anything you paid them, but the refund itself comes from the operator.
What it costs you
Right now, getting quotes through Busly is free for you — you pay the operator for the trip, at the quoted price. If we ever introduce a booking fee, we’ll show it clearly before you confirm anything — never a surprise on the bill.
Your consumer rights
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. You’re entitled to the consumer guarantees that apply to our service, and to the operator’s. If something goes wrong, those protections still stand — these terms sit alongside them, not over them.
Where our responsibility ends
We work hard to match you with good operators and to keep the platform running, but we can’t guarantee an operator’s conduct, a bus’s punctuality, or that a quote will suit you. To the extent the law allows, Busly isn’t liable for the operator’s acts or for things outside our reasonable control. What we areresponsible for is running the platform honestly and handling your data properly (see our Privacy page).
If there's a dispute
Talk to us first — email hello@busly.io and we’ll genuinely try to sort it out, including helping mediate with an operator. If a trip itself goes wrong, the operator is the first port of call, and we’ll back you up. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Busly grows. We’ll change the “last updated” date, and for anything significant we’ll give you a heads-up. Carrying on using Busly after a change means you’re okay with it.
